At CORE Health Care, we embrace the concept of neuroplasticity as our guiding philosophy for rehabilitation. In the context of an intense, comprehensive program, repeated learning trials are presented that can actually rebuild connections that were damaged by the injury or illness. These new discoveries provide reason for hope and optimism in the long rehabilitation process as well as motivation for the individual to persist with the hard work necessary to improve. The principles of rehabilitation also tell us that we can strive for and expect change at any time in a person's life. There is no time during a person's life that their brain is immutable. This knowledge opens up a world of opportunities for long-term survivors of brain injury, developmental disorders, and psychiatric illness. "The brain is always changing," and it is becoming increasingly evident that we can affect the direction and utility of that change. CORE is committed to staying on the cutting edge of new research discoveries to provide our residents with the most effective treatments based on the best available scientific evidence.
CORE Health Care is located in Dripping Springs, TX and provides post acute rehabilitation for brain injury and long term care for individuals diagnosed with brain injuries, autism, psychiatric disorders and other special needs. Our goal is to restore self-directed functional ability to individuals so that they can live in the least restrictive environment possible with minimal need for support services. The licensed professional staff provide psychiatric and medical care; cognitive, physical, occupational, speech and psychotherapy; and vocational and educational development with a personalized program for each resident focusing on quality of life and independence. Our residents benefit from a low client to staff ratio of 3:1 allowing time for individualized care, interests and community involvement. Our continuum of care is designed to maximize each person's well being by emphasizing safety, developing vocational, leisure and social pursuits that the individual finds meaningful and consistent with their life goals.
CORE Health Care also works with the nonprofit CORE Health Foundation in an innovative research initiative designed to share best practices between brain injury research and treatment. The Resilient Mind initiative bridges cutting-edge neuroscience research with real-world patient care to identify how the brain responds to specific therapies—offering real hope for true neurological recovery.
